Mesalt®

Sodium chloride impregnated dressing.  

Mesalt consists of a soft viscose/polyester non-woven material impregnated with 20% w/w sodium chloride. Mesalt absorbs wound exudate and the sodium chloride is released. Mesalt becomes hypertonic, thereby exudate, bacteria and necrotic material is drawn into the dressing, facilitating the natural wound healing process.

Areas of Use:

• Wounds with high levels of wound fluid
• Infected wounds in the inflammatory phase
• Deep cavity wounds

*Requires a secondary dressing, such as Mepilex® Border Flex.
